April Chapter Meeting

Tour of Anchorage Greens Hydroponic HVAC System

This month we are pleased to announce a tour of a local hydroponics garden!

Indoor agriculture is a growing business worldwide. Anchorage Greens, a locally owned business, has opened their doors to allow us to witness first hand which HVAC systems are installed and how they operate their systems to maintain the indoor environment required to provide a fresh selection of greens year round to the Anchorage community.

Bring your questions! This is your chance to ask about the process from someone who has faced the challenges and learned from the School of Hard Knocks! Trevor went into this business with knowledge of growing cannabis, adapted, and then shifted to focus on greens and indoor agriculture.

Trevor Kirchoff (Grower/Guide):
Trevor has always been excited and interested in growing plants. He has worked as a grower and business owner in the hydroponic industry for more than a decade. He is a life long Alaskan born and raised in Juneau. While in Juneau, in 2017, he and his business partner started Juneau Greens. Trevor moved to Anchorage at the end of 2018 to begin building Anchorage Greens.

Anchorage Greens:
Anchorage Greens was started to grow premium quality greens and herbs right in the middle of Anchorage. By growing produce locally and harvesting it each day, they work to maximize product freshness, shelf life, and value, while minimizing shipping, packaging, and food waste. They are passionate about plants and committed to pesticide free cultivation. They use exclusively non-GMO varieties. Their tightly controlled indoor garden was built to allow them to get plants exactly what they need and keep them away from everything they don't. The system is set up to allow them to harvest in all seasons at the peak of freshness and flavor.
