We are excited to offer our successful series of monthly seminars for a second year in a row!
These presentations convey a breadth of knowledge from experts in our industry as well as experienced leaders across fields. This series is specifically geared towards our YEA members, but the content is beneficial for all ASHRAE members looking to improve soft skills and diversify their knowledge.
The intent is to provide training that goes beyond the technical aspects of our industry. As students and fledgling engineers, we learn how to tackle scientific problems, but we are not always offered guidance on how to juggle projects, communicate well, or become respected and sought after professionals.
Some of the topics this series covers include:
· How to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
· How to improve the quality of your designs.
· How to communicate clearly throughout the various stages of design.
· How to get architects and clients to love having you on their team.
· How to market yourself to improve your long-term career and professional standing.
· How to navigate office politics and the bureaucracy within large organizations.
· Additional best practices and kernels of knowledge from distinguished experts.
This seminar series is not specifically tailored to mechanical engineering, so we encourage engineers of all disciplines to attend. Please share these events with your peers and coworkers.
If you have any questions or would like to sponsor a presentation, contact Alaska Chapter YEA Chair Elena Hartford.
We look forward to providing this valuable information to the next leaders of our industry!
