Presenter: David Apperson, PE and HVAC Mechanic, Cool Air Mechanical

David Apperson is a professional mechanical engineer and apprentice HVAC mechanic.
He earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from UAF, graduating in 2012. He started his engineering career as an HVAC controls engineer and field technician for Siemens and then worked as an HVAC design engineer for PDC Engineers. He became licensed as a professional engineer in 2018. He realized that he felt something was missing from his understanding of mechanical systems and so made the difficult decision to step away from engineering to learn the plumbing and HVAC trades.
In 2019, he graduated from the AVTEC Plumbing and Heating program and now works as a plumber and HVAC mechanic for Cool Air Mechanical. David is concurrently progressing through a Union apprenticeship program at Local 367 Plumbers & Pipefitters.
