Eric Cowling, PE has 40 years of experience in electrical construction and engineering. Starting with IBEW Apprenticeship Training and then becoming a Journeyman Electrician, Eric went on to earn a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Fresno. Since 1994, Eric has been engineering electrical systems throughout Alaska, and he currently owns EIC Engineers based in Anchorage, Alaska. Eric is also on the Municipality of Anchorage Building Board and is the Chairman of the NEC code amendments committee for Anchorage.

For successful projects, Mechanical Engineers must work closely with Electrical Engineers in our industry. Eric’s presentation will highlight the related electrical aspects a Mechanical Engineer needs to know for success. He will identify and explain the relative requirements mandated by the IMC, NEC, NBIC, IBC, and IFC that must be addressed by the mechanical engineer’s design to avoid design errors.
